a good war starts in the conference room and works its way to the album cover

‘Bittersweet Symphony’ is a pretty good song to listen to on your way to an interview. It gets you just the right amount of pumped up, while simultaneously injecting your thoughts with a healthy dose of antiestablishment with lines like “you’re a slave to money till you die,” laid down over an orchestra that is building toward something epic. And all of a sudden you don’t even know if you want a job anymore and this makes you so relaxed that during the interview you start cracking Chuck Norris jokes, and everyone is charmed. But then you don’t get the job, and you realize that the symphony really is bittersweet after all.
